LATEST INTELLIGENCE REPORT

The drilling rigs (2 of them) were near Somerset field (Beauforts Bounty), but they will move all  over the whole wind farm site to every turbine location when they have looked in the holes for those particular turbines. Meant to be doing it for 5 weeks total ( so that's 4 weeks from now), then go away . It's a special firm that does these holes etc. The rigs are quite small, but they still sink in a bit and need to have sort of wooden platforms to go on. They're also making a 'temporary' road to go along. This has something put down to stop it sinking in. But sometimes it does sink in and they have to put another on top or some straw. One of the rigs did get stuck. They're making this track along lines of the planned eventual wind farm tracks? They've put some concrete blocks with yellow tape on as markers to stop their vehicles going off the track, but they haven't put fencing. They have to stick to strict regulations he said & so far they seem to be, and have cleared up any mess made. The holes are quite small. They have also got a gadget that detects things underground. None of this activity makes any noise. They haven't cut or dug up any vegetation but clearly it will get a bit squashed. Afterwards they are meant to go away. Then  they would start the proper wind farm road at the other end in Pontardulais (Bolgoed)? They've knocked down a bit of the wall of the Somerset field, with permission, as I said before, to keep machines in. REPORT ENDS.

NB: Have just had a report that REW are test drilling at 'Somerset Field' on Mynydd y Gwair whose up for an 'Occupation' or at least some mass Poster Action fast? See Map Below 'Somerset Field' is in area south of Pentwyn Mawr and you  can get within sriking distance via road across Mountain or even via the St Illtyd Walk way unless RWE have fenced off? It is of great interest that it is 'Somerset Field' that is the property of the Duke of Somerset and it is 'Somerset Feild' which is key to the whole Windmill Farm as it is here will be built the key unit of the WF site as location of the 'Substation' to which wind power electricity is directed and distributed via pylons off the mountain. Thus 'occupation' would cause problems for RWE/BEAUFORT Land Grabbers.

 This needs to be investigated, how long has Beaufort known of these Windmill plans was he indeed tipped off so as to buy up this land to give him a bargaining chip to hold RWE to ransome. Whatever, it looks as if not only entrence  to MyG at Bolgoed, Gopa Hill  (Construction Base) and certainly 'Somerset Field' are key areas to hold protests at or in case of 'Somerset Field' occupy long term. So, lets now see if Welsh Nats have as much courage as 'English Anti - Fracker Greens' in defence of land and community. Face truth if Welsh Nats do not act on this with radical patriotic positivity then they are not the heirs of Owain Glyndwr full stop.

SOCME issued the following press statement on 21 July 2016:

"SOCME together with the whole Community is saddened to hear of the Minister's decision to grant common land permissions for the Mynydd y Gwair wind farm. The decision comes despite the Minister noting in a decision letter that "The Inspector concluded that the wind farm would be detrimental to the appearance of the commons and the majority of the people's enjoyment of them".

What will be lost is hard to comprehend;
A living, working landscape LOST under tonnes of stone, concrete & steel
The hefting system for the commoners livestock - LOST
The sense of enjoyment for walkers experiencing the wide open space of Mynydd y Gwair - LOST
The wildlife habitat - LOST

For what? Just to produce a small insignificant percentage of power - SCANDALOUS

This decision has been reached in the same week as press speculation that RWE may face bankruptcy. We also note that the inspectors report pre dates the recent EU referendum and the current speculation concerning RWE's financial position.
